Maddy is a sweet, mature girl looking for a special home where she can truly relax and be happy. She came to live with her current family after Hurricane Ida when she was not doing well in her previous environment. Her family stepped in to help her, and she has been loved and cared for ever since.

Unfortunately, the home already had a dog, and despite everyone’s best efforts, Maddy has never adjusted to living with a canine companion. Each time she encounters the dog, she becomes very stressed and will try to attack. Her family cares deeply about Maddy but recognizes that this living situation is not ideal for either her or their dog.

Because of this, Maddy is looking for a home where she can be the only pet. She does well with people and enjoys companionship, though she prefers affection on her own terms and would rather you avoid touching her belly. A home with older, respectful children would likely be the best fit for her.

Maddy would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can be the center of attention and enjoy a peaceful life.
