THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME.

What can I say about this sweet gentleman that'll steal your heart? Jess is quite shy at first but once he warms up watch out! He loves to head butt your hands, which as we know is one of the highest forms of affection!

He gets along well with most of the other cats in my foster space except for this one other big bully. It's not his fault. He did get along very well with one of the females, unfortunately! You see, we were told Jess was a female. Next thing I know he is trying to get ahold of another female! I checked and sure enough, male! Stupid me for trusting his paperwork! He told me, "Look, I'm not ready to have kittens calling me dad, and I don't want to pay any child support in the form of catnip and treats. I'm ready to change my rebel-rousing ways! Let's get to the vet and get me neutered so I can settle down now!" So he is a neutered male who just loves to have attention and lap cuddles.

He was fearful when he came home from his neuter and I can't say I blame him. But once he knows you're a safe person who won't cut off any more of his "appendages" (haha) he will warm up to you. He is a quiet cat who is gentle and unassuming. Once he is in a home of his own I know his more playful side will emerge.

His coat needs some work. His mane almost looks like it may have been shaved at some point and is trying to grow back in. It doesn't make sense. I even thought maybe a flea allergy at one point caused his mane to be shorter from scratching. I'm really not sure! It's hard to explain but his neck hair is a different texture and a bit thin compared to the rest of his gorgeous, silky hair. I think it will fill in nicely though. I've seen a cat that I think he will look like once it fills in and I know he will be a stunner. He has the type of silky, shiny hair that doesn't get matted so if you're not into grooming, Jess is your man! I'm sure he would like it if you did want to brush him for some connection and snuggle time.

He loves to be cuddled once he is comfortable with you. He likes kids that are calmer for now. I don't know that a rambunctious household will allow him to come out of his shell. So calm households only for now, please!

Jess has not been dog tested, but I think an older laid-back dog would be just fine. I feel a dog that doesn't chase cats would be best. Also, a cat that doesn't bully him would be his best companion. He would do great as a single cat also.

I don't know his history but he needs some TLC to blossom to his full potential. He is healthy but looks small in his pics. While I think he will be a smaller cat as an adult, he does still have some growing and filling out to do. His mane being gone makes him look a bit comical. It will all fill in and he will be a glorious cat to behold before you know it. I think he has some weight to gain as well. He's still young and is less than a year old I think.

Jess has a tipped ear, which is typically what they do to cats in feral colonies that have been fixed. It's usually an identifier that can be seen from a distance without catching the cat. However, Jess wasn't neutered when we got him so I can't explain why his ear is tipped. As I said, I don't know his history. He is still a young cat and will only grow and bloom in your care!

Is Jess the handsome, quiet gentleman you need in your life?
