*Mandy and Mindy are a bonded pair*

Mindy (Nickname: Gigi) in her foster home since the similar names were confusing for all involved.

Mindy is the most amazing, resilient little cat I have ever met. She has a true "heart of gold." Mindy (sometimes just "G") is everything you could want in a new friend: she is funny, friendly, and returns love tenfold. As her foster mom, I assure you that Gigi and her sister are definite "foster fail" material, however, our resident female cat decided not to share her space with other girls. Our loss is your gain! There are so many reasons to adopt this sweet little girl:

• If you are looking for a lap- cat, Mindy has you covered (literally)

• If you have another cat needs company, Mindy and her sister, Mandy (her nickname is Little Chrissy) are up for games and cuddle-puddles with friendly cats of all ages

• Mindy and Mandy do not have a gender preference; they love hanging out with men, women, and everyone else :)

• If you want to go viral with cute cat videos or gorgeous feline photography, Mindy is The Perfect content creator

• Although they have never met a dog, we believe that Mindy and her sister would make friends easily.

• Mindy and Mandy were curious and warmed up quickly to a visiting 4-year-old

HISTORY:

Mindy and Mandy were surrendered to a high-kill shelter in Kentucky with their mom, sister, and brother. Before their transfer to Baltimore, the family contracted ringworm and had to endure weeks of awful medical treatments and isolation when they arrived here. Mindy had the worst infection: patches of leathery skin were so painful that she was scared to be touched. She cowered behind the litter pan when anyone came into the room. Given the lack of human attachment during their first months of life, we worried that the two girls would never be socialized, destined to survive as barn cats, never knowing the love of a family...

It takes a cat with a really wonderful personality to overcome a traumatic kittenhood -- lucky, Mindy IS truly wonderful: she blossomed into a trusting, person-oriented companion. She is curious and loves learning what people get up to and figuring out how things work. Mindy prefers being a part of the action; if she isn't already in the room, you can bet she will be checking on you shortly.

PRESENT DAY:

As you can see, this beautiful girl is now the picture of health. Her coat has grown back, and she looks FABULOUS. She has a huge, glorious tail-- everyone who sees her comments on it! She is quite small, and because her mom was tiny, we don't think Mindy will be a very big girl. Given her petite size, bushy tail, and habit of scampering up and down the cat tree like greased lightning, she has earned the nickname "The Indoor Squirrel." That luxurious coat is as super-soft as it looks, and she is always quick to start purring.

Mindy is also a playful, hilarious kitten with loads of silly quirks that will be tons of fun to discover on your own! For example, she has a penchant for drinking directly out of faucets; it is pretty adorable to pull back the shower curtain to find a little cat in the tub, inspecting for drips. She adores her sister, Mandy--particularly wrestling with her and playing tag. I highly recommend lighting the mood of a Zoom meeting by letting these two burst into the room and tear around after each other on camera. Mindy is also a big fan of playing fetch, and even initiates games by jumping up and plopping her toy-du-jour into your lap. Lately, she has been into plastic springs, foam balls, and a little stuffed bunny.

Mindy and Mandy have been together since birth and would like to go home together. The "Brown Sisters" are peas-in-a-pod and complement each other so well-- especially in the cold weather when Mindy will curl up next to Mandy to keep her warm.

Mindy & Mandy have watched their mom, brother, and sister get adopted. They would love a home of their own. While their mom was a Maine Coon Mix, they did not get the long hair. Mindy is more medium hair, while Mandy is short hair.

If you would like to meet the cats before adoption, we are happy to host a meet-and-greet, however, you must submit an Adoption Application through our website and be approved.

Adoption fees are per cat. If you adopt 2, there is a $25.00 discount.

Mindy’s adoption fee is $150.00 & Mandy’s adoption fee is $150.00. There is a $25.00 discount for adopting 2.
