THE FOLLOWING CATS ARE BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME

Available to adopters within 100 miles of Baltimore, MD:

Mindy started off fearful and sick, but she has come a long way, baby! Now, she is an affectionate, gentle companion who is very fond of sleeping in laps. Mindy also really enjoys playing, running and jumping so hard she pants to catch her breath.

Out of her family, Mindy had the worst case of ringworm. Large patches of her head and ears were bald, leathery, and clearly very painful. She didn’t like to be touched at all. Like her mom, she would hiss and cower in a litter pan when anyone entered the room. But play-time helped a lot! Mindy would focus so hard on catching toys that she didn't notice when people got close to her. With treatment, Mindy's ringworm healed completely and she became more comfortable- physically and socially! Mindy will trot up and ask for pets, and she is always the first to cuddle up on my lap while I'm working. The ringworm treatments left Mindy with short hair but may re-grow her longer coat in the coming weeks. For now, she looks like a mini jungle-cat. (She also looks like her sister, Mandy, but she is darker and doesn't have Mandy's white boots.)

The M Litter had a rough start. Mom-cat, Mazie, taught her kittens that hissing and hiding is the best way to deal with people and other animals. Even after socialization and regaining their health, they remain skittish in stressful situations. For this reason,  homes without small children are preferred.  Adopters should bear in mind that these cats will require patience and slow introductions before they can be themselves. Because they are so active and used to living together, their home should include  at least one other young, energetic cat-- ideally, a sibling or their mom. As with all kittens, playing with them will go a long way to building their confidence.
