Maine Coon Rescue
THE FOLLOWING CATS ARE BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME.
BIO: Where do I even start with Winter? I have been really fortunate with my foster kitties this past year and a half but Winter is by far one of the top 5! The first thing many people ask is "Is he deaf?" No he is not thankfully. He is not odd eyed, which those are typically the ones that are deaf. I can't even sneak up on this cat! He will be laying on the top of the cat tree. I try to sneak into the room oh so stealthy and quiet. He's up and running to me instantly! He loves to be held and is so gentle. He is a little loud in his crate for vet visits but otherwise isn't overly vocal. He will meow in greeting and that's about it. Everyone that sees him loves him instantly. He's a real ham too! He likes boxes as most cats do. I had a box and some bubble wrap in the foster room and he had it all strung out playing with it! He really is so funny! He needs a family of his own and not just locked up in the foster room. He does have French doors so he can look at us all the time, but I feel he needs to be part of a family of his very own. He would be great for a single person too! He is perfectly content sleeping the day away but when you are ready for cuddles so is he! I don't know how he is with dogs because my dog hasn't been in there with him. He is a really laid back but outgoing boy so I feel with proper introductions he would be just fine with a dog. He is excellent with cats and really bonded with another foster I had that recently went to a new home. He is pretty good with about anything that comes his way! He is eager to meet anyone who will pet him and spend time with him. He isn't skittish or afraid of anything it seems.
He is a large framed cat but a little slender. He may put on another pound or two but I think this is a good weight for his size. His tail is bigger than he is! His coat doesn't get matted easily like most long haired cats but daily brushing wouldn't hurt! It would be a great way for you and him to bond. He loves treats and wet food, but I hold off on that a little. He will eat anything and isn't picky. He is using the litter box perfectly, even with a recent litter change. Anyone that chooses to adopt Winter will be truly lucky indeed. Go ahead and fill out an application if you have the perfect home for him! I am willing to let him go to a home within about 5 hours of me. Maybe 6 tops. The reason for this is just in case he needs to be returned for any reason it isn't too far of a distance. I am willing to meet halfway with an approved adopter.
