I HEREBY AGREE TO:

• Care for the above-mentioned cat humanely (including, but not limited to water, food, shelter, vaccinations, and any necessary veterinary care). Maine Coon Rescue (MCR) will have the right to inspect living conditions. If any inhumane treatment is suspected and established, MCR will have the right to reclaim the cat.
• Relinquish custody only to MCR. I will not sell, trade, or dispose of this cat in any other manner. I will not take this cat to a shelter.
• Use this cat for no other purpose than as a family pet.
• I understand that any cat adopted through MCR can be returned to MCR after any period of time, but a refund will only be considered if the cat is returned within two weeks of being transferred to its adoptive home.

Kitten under the age of 6 months - If adopted out whole: Adopter shall have the cat/kitten spay/neutered by the age of 6 months. Adopter agrees not to allow this cat to produce offspring and if this cat is found to have been bred, Maine Coon Rescue has the right to repossess this cat/kitten and the offsprings at the cost of the Adopter. States that require all animals to be spayed/neutered before adoption can be adopted but will not go home until they are spayed/neutered.

• Altered Cat over 6 months of age: I understand this is an altered cat that will not produce kittens.
• Pay the medical expenses for this cat.
• Keep this cat indoors only, to not allow this cat outside except under close supervision or on a leash. At no time will this cat be tied outside.
• Not declaw this cat.
• Supply a scratching post for cats with intact claws. Read MCR supplied materials on declawing and training. I will do my best to train this cat to use the scratching post. If my training efforts are unsuccessful, and the cat consistently exhibits destructive scratching behavior, I will notify a MCR for advice.
• Notify Maine Coon Rescue within 24 hours if the cat is lost or deceased within 2 years after adoption.
• Not hold Maine Coon Rescue or the MCR members responsible for the conduct of the cat after adoption.

Adoption Fees:

• $150 - kittens spayed & neutered, $100 if too young to spay/neuter
• $125 - adults 1 - 9 years
• $100 - seniors 10 years and older/Senior Purebred Maine Coon (10 years and older)
• $100 - cats with special needs
• $200 – Purebred Maine Coon (adults 7 - 10 years)
• $250 – Purebred Maine Coon (adults 1 - 6 years)
• $300 – Purebred Maine Coon kitten

I FURTHER AGREE THAT:

• MCR has not made any misrepresentations regarding this particular cat other than information given to them by former owners and the member’s own observations of the cat while in their presence.
• MCR does not propose to know the parentage of cats in its care, and by this statement, I have been informed that it cannot and does not assure that the parentage of this cat includes any pure Maine Coon.
• MCR accepts no responsibility for any liability or for any injury or damages to any person or property caused by this cat, as well as any cause of action, claims, suits or demands whatsoever that may arise as a result of such injury or damage.
• MCR members may inquire about the cat and may reclaim the cat from me if I do not fulfill the above agreement.
• My electronic signature and submission of this form acknowledges that I have read and understood the above and will accept the above-described cat as part of my family.
